Clawdia's Cat Grooming
Terms and Conditions
Clawdia's Terms & Conditions
All bookings are subject to the Terms stated below. Once a booking is made and deposit taken, the Terms below are deemed to be read and accepted by You and constitutes an agreed contract. From time to time we may revise the T&Cs and it is your responsibility to check the website to keep up to date with any changes.
Within the T&Cs, all references to “You” or "Your" denote the owner or person responsible for the animal. All References to “We”, "Our" or “Us” denote Clawdia's.
The Deposit
To secure the booking slot, we require a deposit payment of £30. For claw trimming only, the full appointment cost will be due to secure the booking. The deposit can be paid via bank transfer or PayPal. The cost of the groom and travel payable on the day of the groom will be minus the deposit paid.
Travel Fee
A flat travel fee of £20, plus 50p per mile from SK3 to the grooming address and back will be applicable for all grooming sessions.
Cancelling or rescheduling
The deposit is fully refundable if you wish to cancel the appointment with more than 72 hours' notice. Within a 72 hour notice period, the deposit is non-refundable, however can be transferred to a future booking if we are notified within 24 hours of the appointment. Any changes within 24 hours, the deposit will be non-transferrable and non-refundable.
Missed Appointments
Please ensure that your cat is available to groom in time for the appointment. Please ensure that they are not hiding and are secured in a room where they can be easily transferred to the grooming area once set up.
We advise that your cat is prepared for the appointment at least 20 minutes before the appointment time.
If a groom is delayed for more than 10 minutes due to either you or the cat not being available, the groom may need to be cancelled as rushing a groom could be harmful to the cat and disrupt our schedule. In this case, the deposit will be non-transferrable and non-refundable and the travel charge will still apply.
Timekeeping
All appointment times are met as closely as possible, however, due to traffic and cats being unpredictable (we cannot rush a groom and so sometimes may run over on previous appointments), we may arrive a little earlier or later than the stated time. You will be kept up to date via email and/or text when we are on the way to you.
Payment
We accept online bank transfer or by cash in person. Full payment is to be made following the grooming service and before we leave the property.
Pricing
The prices quoted are guidelines only, until the cat has been seen in person. The actual cost will be confirmed once the cat has been assessed at the beginning of the appointment.
Fleas
If fleas are discovered during the grooming session, an additional £15 flea fee will be charged on top of the grooming cost. This fee covers the expenses involved in treating the groomer's clothing and equipment, as well as any delays caused to the next appointment due to necessary cleaning and treatment.
Promotional Photos
We may take photos or videos of cats during their grooming sessions for use in promotional content, including on our website and social media. Your cat may be identified by name, but you will not be personally identified or linked to the cat unless you request otherwise. All media remains the property of Clawdia's. If you do not wish for photos of your cat to be used, please inform us before your appointment.
Health
It is your responsibility to inform us of any medical conditions, allergies, sensitivities, or ongoing treatments the cat may have before the grooming session begins. Clawdia's cannot be held liable for any conditions or problems that are discovered during grooming or related treatments. Clawdia's is not a veterinarian and any advice given regarding health problems should at all times be checked with a licensed veterinarian. You are urged to seek professional advice from your veterinarian regarding any health concerns.
Matting and Coat Condition Disclaimer
Matted coats can lead to a variety of health issues, including itching, irritation, skin infections, and injuries.
If excessive matting prevents us from completing the full groom or any pre-booked treatments, we reserve the right to halt the session and request that an additional appointment be scheduled to complete the necessary work.
Cat Care & Grooming Terms
We handle all cats with the utmost care, prioritising their health and well-being. If a medical issue arises during grooming, the session may be stopped, and you will be responsible for seeking veterinary care. In this case, the full grooming fee will still apply. In the event of an emergency, you authorise us to seek immediate veterinary assistance, and you agree to cover any resulting veterinary costs.
-
Matt Removal Risks: Removing mats may cause skin redness, irritation and/or small nicks or abrasions. Shaving a cat’s coat could also result in hair not regrowing properly, patchy regrowth, or changes in the fur. By consenting to the removal of matted hair or shaving, you acknowledge and accept these potential outcomes. Any related treatment costs will be the responsibility of the owner.
-
Post-Grooming Care: We recommend keeping outdoor cats indoors following a shave. The cat will be extra sensitive to the sun and cold, as well as the exposed skin being more likely to become damaged by brambles and scrapes, or contact with other cats.
-
Skin Nicks & Grooming Requests: The removal of matting carries certain risks, such as nicks, cuts, or abrasions, particularly when warts, moles, or skin folds are hidden beneath the mats. Heavy matting can also trap moisture against the skin, potentially leading to fungal or bacterial infections. Clawdia's is not responsible for any conditions that result from a matted coat.
-
Cats with heavy matting will result in an additional charge due to the wear and tear on the clippers. You agree to pay the full grooming fee, even if we are unable to complete the entire task.
-
Shaving and Additional Charges: Extra charges may apply for equipment wear, additional products used, and the time and expertise required to remove mats.
Groomer Safety
Handling of Anxious or Aggressive Cats: We are trained to safely handle cats, including those that are anxious or aggressive. The safety of your cat is our highest priority. However, if we are unable to complete the grooming due to your cats behaviour or welfare, you agree to schedule follow-up sessions at an additional cost.
Disclosure of Aggressive Behaviour: You must advise us before the appointment if your cat has a history of biting or aggression. If we observe increased signs of stress or aggression during the grooming session, we may use tools such as an open collar, towel or other methods to help ensure the safety of the groomer. If the behaviour of your cat endangers themselves or the groomer, the grooming session will be stopped immediately. You agree to pay the full grooming fee, even if the session cannot be completed due to your cat’s behaviour. We also reserve the right to refuse service to any aggressive or highly anxious cat that poses a risk to itself or our staff.
Insurance
Clawdia's holds full Public Liability insurance, which can be viewed upon request.

We reserve the right to update or modify these Terms at any time. Any changes will be posted on our website and will become effective immediately upon posting.
