Full de-shed dry groom - including claw trim and eye/ear clean if required.

 

Includes:

• A full comb to remove the loose hair and any minor knots and tangles from the coat.

• Your cat will receive a thorough brushing through using specialist combs and de-shedding rakes, along with application of a cat friendly dry shampoo and/or conditioning spray.

• Minor matts that cannot be teased out will be clipped.

• If your cat has many large matts this will incur a higher cost. Please see the matt removal section for details.

Why de-shed a cat?:

Cats of all types require regular brushing or maintenance to keep them in good health. During the natural shedding process, hairs can get stuck in the coat and cause matts and skin issues. Thoroughly removing this shedded coat stimulates circulation and allows the coat to breathe and distribute oils to keep the skin healthy. A good de-shed will also increase the air circulation through the coat to assist the cat to maintain a comfortable temperature and will help to avoid painful matts forming. You will also see less shedding around the house, keeping furniture and clothes cleaner in the process!

It is very important to ensure that your cat is free of matts for their health and comfort. Once small matts have formed, if not dealt with, they can become entwined with other knots, pulling the skin together and creating pain, sores, infection and restricted movement. Moisture and dirt can be trapped underneath the matting and the matts can also pull the hairs out of the skin which can be very painful.

The safest way to remove such matts is to clip them off. Please note, scissors must never be used near a cats delicate skin.

 

Matt removal £20-60 depending on severity of matting. In some instances, a full Lion Trim or similar may be required.

Lion Clip - Non Matted

 

• We will use clippers to trim the coat close to the skin, leaving the mane at the front, the legs and tail long.

• This service is for cats who experience issues with their long or dense coat, such as a propensity to matting or if the cat is elderly or has issues with self-grooming. Please note, we do not offer this service purely for aesthetic reasons.

Lion Clip - Matted / Pelted coat

 

From £85+ depending on the severity of the matts. A fully pelted coat would be £130+ due to the time and care required.

 

 

Teddy Cut - Non Matted

 

For a teddy trim, we will use a comb guard attachment to trim the coat to the desired length. This can improve a cat's comfort, help prevent matting and allow easier self-grooming. This is not a service suitable for cats with existing large matts.

Claw Clip

When a cat’s claws become too long, they can curl around into the paw pad, puncturing through, causing pain and potentially infection.

Outdoor cats will usually maintain their claws naturally, however, indoor and older cats may require regular claw trimming to keep their claws and paws healthy and properly maintained.

Tummy Trim

We offer a tummy trim for cats who are prone to knots around the tummy, armpits and hygiene area.

Hygiene Trim

Also known as a sanitary trim, this will involve trimming the fur around the genital area to help the cat stay clean and comfortable. This is particularly useful for long coated breeds and elderly or chunkier cats who may find it harder to self-groom this area.

Wet Bath

This is an add on to the Dry Groom service, providing a wet bath with cat shampoo, a hand dry and any minor matt or tangle removal.

Kitten Groom (under 6 months)

Introduction to grooming for kittens under 6 months old. Includes a claw trim if required.

We offer a Sphynx groom to include a full wash down with appropriate wipes and products to gently remove dirt and oils from the body. This also includes a face, ear, eye and claw clean and a claw trim if required.
